eMemory Technology, a Taiwan-based provider of embedded non-volatile memory silicon IP and technology, on November 14 announced that it has won 2011 IP Partner Award from Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) for the second consecutive year.
The award is to recognize contribution of TSMC IP Alliance's partners and covers four IP areas, that is, Interface IP, Analog/Mixed Signal IP, Foundation IP and Special Embedded Memory IP, eMemory indicated. Selection of winners is based on clients' feedback, compliance with TSMC-9000 criteria and technical support.
With cooperation beginning in 2003, TSMC has so far manufactured more than 1.5 million wafers cumulatively using eMemory's NeoBit IP, eMemeory president Rick Shen pointed out.
eMemory has had its NeoBit IP used in the iPhone 4S through its Germany-based client Dialog Semiconductor and Qualcomm has adopted eMemory's technology for its NFC (near field communication)-enabled handset baseband chips to be produced by TSMC in 2012.
eMemory has 90% of revenues coming from NeoBit, one-time or multiple-time programmable devices, currently. The company has developed NeoFlash, 10,000-time programmable devices, and NeoEE, 100,000-time programmable devices. eMemory has cooperated with TSMC's 0.16 micron process and with Global Foundries' 0.11 and 0.13 micron processes for NeoFlash, and with Semiconductor Manufacturing International's 0.18 micron process for NeoEE.
