Pepsi Bottling tops Q2 earnings, revenue estimates 08.07.2003 12:45 Headlines NEW YORK (AFX) -- Pepsi Bottling Group reported second-quarter net income of $131 million, or 47 cents a share, matching earnings of 47 cents a share in the year-earlier period, and above the average analyst forecast compiled by Reuters Research of 46 cents a share. Revenue for the quarter ending June 14 rose 15 percent to $2.53 billion, above analyst estimates of $2.49 billion. U.S. physical case volume declined 2 percent. The marketer of Pepsi-Cola beverages said encouraging results of the introduction of Mountain Dew LiveWire and positive results from its flavor and diet soft drink products helped offset lower than expected volume performance in the U.S. The stock closed Monday up 49 cents at $20.73.
