Shortage speculation is driving copper to a third up day in a row, with TD Securities forecasting a 580,000-ton deficit, and companies like Rio Tinto (RIO) and Freeport-McMoRan Copper & Gold (FCX) showing confidence in Chinese demand despite interest rate hikes there. Die Gesellschaft sei im Süden der demokratischen Republik Kongo tätig. Im Schlussquartal 2010 habe Katanga Mining die Kupfer- und Kobaltförderung merklich ausweiten können. Für dieses Jahr zeige sich die Geschäftsführung optimistisch, Umsatz und Gewinn weiter steigern zu können. Aktuell sei der Titel mit einem KGV 2011e von 10 und einem KGV 2012e von 6 gepreist.
